The human figure has always fascinated me; whether it's the way skin tones shift and change to reflect the hues around them or the way the anatomy of the figure affects the fall of fabric on the form. Add to that, the intangible goal of capturing the essence of the personality on paper or canvas, and each portrait commission becomes a deeply satisfying challenge.

Patricia Rice has studied portraiture at The Corcoran School of Art, The Art League in Alexandria with Robert Liberace, and with Daniel Greene in New York. A member of the Portrait Society of America, her portrait, “Day Dreaming”, was a finalist in their 2006 Tri-State (VA, NC, SC) Portrait Competition.
