Trees have been a central symbol of transcendence, immortality and life in almost every culture. Without trees, we would no longer be able to exist. Trees provide a great comfort to me, and in painting images of trees, I find a peace that I wish to share. In my paintings of individual trees, I capture the individuality of the tree as if in a portrait. In my landscapes, I depict the seeming interaction within groups of trees as if the trees are communicating with one another.
