Celebrate Summer Block Party at the Workhouse

Event Date:
Saturday, June 23, 2012 - 3:00pm
Price:
Free
Venue:
Quad

We invite friends, neighbors and family members to gather on the Quad to kick off the summer season at the Celebrate Summer Block Party at the Workhouse! There will be family activities, music, a community resource tent, food from some of Lorton’s most popular restaurants and, of course, art!

The Workhouse is partnering with the Lorton Community Action Center (LCAC) during the block party to collect non-perishables for those in need in our community. Bring your donations to the collection truck on the Quad and visit with the folks from the LCAC to learn about their services and how the community can both benefit from and contribute to this important organization.

Block Party Activities

The Fairfax County Park Authority golf pros will offer family-friendly SNAG (Starting New at Golf) golf lessons for youngsters on the Quad, and the zany Workhouse Jester will be on hand to encourage good-natured mayhem and mirth!

Watch the Northern Virginia Archers (NORVA) demonstrate Traditional and Compound Archery.

Kaleidoscope Theatre Company will present a preview of their upcoming Capital Fringe Festival production of "Will Rogers' U.S.A." in the W-16 first floor café.

Visit our community resource area to learn about the fun, educational and creative resources available in the region.
