“I have a passion for painting….no matter the subject. It is the act of painting that I find exciting and rejuvenating. That having been said, I love painting peoples' possessions---for me they reveal a story more telling than their facial features. Painting out of doors is so exhilarating…it tests your powers of observation and sureness of stroke. One cannot waste time as the sun moves east to west changing what is before you in a matter of minutes. "

Denise holds an MFA in Painting and Drawing from The Catholic University of America, has taught in the Graduate program at VCU and is presently Art Department Chair at an Arlington high school.
